Master of Public Health at UNC Charlotte

The Master of Public Health (MPH) at UNC Charlotte prepares graduate students to apply core principles of public health within a variety of settings and to advance the public health profession. Students can develop specialized skills to further their public health career with 3 different concentration options:

  • Community Health Practice,
  • NEW!Epidemiology, or
  • NEW!Population Health Analytics. 

The MPH program at UNC Charlotte is accredited by the Council of Education for Public Health (CEPH) which sets high standards for the knowledge and skills for the public health profession.

Our graduates get jobs! Within 1 year of graduation, over 80% of our alumni are working in the public health field or have gone on to pursue additional education.

Community Health Practitioners work as health educators, program planners, health advocates, evaluation specialists and project coordinators in a variety of settings such as corporate wellness, local health departments, nonprofit agencies, hospitals and clinics.

Epidemiologists work in a variety of settings such as local and state health departments, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), hospitals and research settings.

Population Health Analysts apply their skills and knowledge to generate and display essential evidence to inform health policy and aid decision makers to improve health at the community, state and national level. They work in hospitals, local health departments, policy and research institutes, and in government settings.

Getting an MPH from UNC Charlotte is good for your bottom line; whether in-state or out-of- state, our tuition is very affordable. In addition, HALF of our full-time students will have some form of assistantship or other financial assistance during their 2 year education.
