Join us on October 16th 5:30 – 7:30pm in the Talley Ballrooms to hear from five women who, despite considerable challenges, have made significant contributions to their fields.
There are some wonderful women speaking, including the Daughter and Daughter-in-Law of Dorothy Vaughan, an African American teacher whose mathematical calculations made important contributions to space flight at NASA. She was also the first African American supervisor at NASA. Also featured is NC State’s own Dr. Jamila Simpson – the first African-American woman to receive a B.S. degree in meteorology from NC State.
