The Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes is looking to hire tutors for the spring 2018 semester. The job descriptions and the link for the applicants to apply are provided below.
Qualification for all positions:
Must have at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average,
Demonstrate proficiency in coursework and/or have received a B+ or higher in the courses selected to tutor.
Must abide by North Carolina State University, NCAA and ASPSA rules and regulations.
Must be able to teach academic success strategies to a diverse student population in a one-on-one or small group setting. Must have the ability to effectively communicate verbally and have skills to develop written reports.
Must be attentive to detail and accurate in record keeping.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
Preference can be given to individuals who have tutoring experience or other educational qualifications.
Preference given to individuals who are a sophomore or higher standing.
Tutor Application for all subjects except for the tutoring lab positions below: (CHASS, Humanities, BIO, MEA, CH, PY, SSC, FS, ES, Accounting, Econ, Business, etc.)
Provide individual and small group tutoring to student-athletes within the Academic Skills Enhancement Program to enhance academic skills through teaching study skills and strategies, clarifying questions related to the content, and offer academic mentoring within ASPSA’s facilities throughout the academic year.

Individuals selected for this position will tutor courses in all areas of the undergraduate math curriculum. Tutors will need to be able to work with students in one-on-one settings as well as group settings. Tutors will need to be able to manage time in group settings and answer student questions in several different classes. Tutors will need to have strong communication skills and will need to differentiate instruction to a variety of student skill levels.
