Developing Cultural Competence Certificate Program

STUDENT GLOBAL SKILLS TRAINING SERIES

This co-curricular student development program includes 3 sequential workshops designed to improve student participants ability recognize culture, cultural dimensions, and cultural competency; and introduce cultural skills that are immediately applicable in students’ experiences on campus and outside of campus contexts. In order to receive the Developing Cultural Competence Certificate, NC State students are expected to (1) complete all three DCC workshops, (2) apply their cultural knowledge in an elective activity and (3) pass a cultural assessment.

• DCC1 – Foundations for Developing Cultural Competence: Oct 16 at 6 PM, Oct 22 at 4:30 PM
• DCC2 – Developing Cultural Knowledge: Nov 13 at 6 PM
• DCC3 – Honing Cultural Skills: Dec 4 at 4:30 PM
